Docker Course Overview
Course Curriculum
8 modules · Each module includes instructional content, a hands-on lab, and a quiz.
Start with the fundamentals — what containers actually are, how they differ from virtual machines, and why they've become essential infrastructure in modern IT.
Get hands-on with Docker right away. Install, explore the CLI, run your first containers, and understand the Docker ecosystem from a practical perspective.
Deep dive into Docker images — how they're structured, how to pull, tag, push, and manage them. Understand layers, registries, and image best practices.
Learn to write Dockerfiles from scratch to build your own custom images. Understand instructions like FROM, RUN, COPY, EXPOSE, and CMD, and apply real-world build patterns.
Define and run multi-container applications using Docker Compose. Write compose files, manage services, volumes, and networks, and deploy real-world application stacks.
Understand how Docker networking works under the hood. Configure bridge, host, and overlay networks, connect containers, expose ports, and control traffic flow between services.
Security is not optional. Learn container isolation, user namespaces, capabilities, image scanning, secrets management, and best practices to harden Docker in production environments.
The course culminates with Docker Swarm — deploy a multi-node cluster, configure managers and workers, understand service replication, rolling updates, and build a genuinely high-availability container environment.
